Nursing, A.A.S.

The Associate of Applied Science Degree Nursing program prepares graduates to deliver nursing care in various health care environments. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the Registered Nursing (RN) licensing exam National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). The Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) awards the license upon successful completion of the exam.

CNA Requirement: Proof of completion of an approved Illinois Department of Public Health Certified Nursing Assistant Program. Approved programs can be found on the Nurse Aide Testing website. This documented proof can be provided by ensuring you are registered and certified on the IDPH Healthcare Worker registry OR if you are not listed in the registry, you must submit a transcript or certificate showing proof of Certified Nursing Assistant program completion. Your Certified Nursing Assistant certificate can be submitted to hsadmissions@cod.edu.
