The BCom Honours Industrial Psychology (IP) degree is a one-year programme offered at the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) to enable students to gain a contemporary insight into the practical application of psychology in the workplace.

Qualification admission requirements

Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning and with at least 50% in Mathematics,
or
a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption (or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board) and with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning and with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in Mathematics,
or
any Higher Certificate offered in the College of Economic and Management Sciences,
or
any Diploma obtained in the College of Economic and Management Sciences.

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements as indicated above should apply for a lower NQF level qualification for which they meet the statutory and additional requirements.

What subjects are needed for industrial psychology?

You will be required to take three major subjects, of which Human Resource Management, Psychology are compulsory major subjects can be chosen from the following subjects: Anthropology, Communications, Business Management (Mathematics is an entry requirement), Information Management, Philosophy, Public Management.

What jobs can you get with an industrial psychology degree?

Human Resources Organizational Development (OD) Manager. This important position is a liaison and advisor to company leadership.

Talent Management Specialist.

Human Resources Practice Manager.
