Graduate Assistant Needed in College of Education

The East Carolina University College of Education Office for Faculty and Staff Development, Wellness, and Engagement seeks a Graduate Assistant (GA) for the 2024-2025 academic year, with potential for renewal for the 2025-2026 academic year. ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
The College of Education’s Office for Faculty and Staff Development, Wellness, and Engagement is housed within the College of Education at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.

POSITION SUMMARY
The graduate assistant will work in the College of Education’s Dean’s Office. The GA will primarily assist the Assistant Dean for Faculty and Staff Development, Wellness, and Engagement in programming, planning, and marketing for the College’s initiatives, particularly those relating to faculty and staff development, wellness, and community engagement.

EXPECTATIONS AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsibilities include, up to 20 hours per week, as assigned:
• Work in partnership with other members of the College of Education Executive Team and College Council as assigned
• Assists in outreach to student organizations, academic departments, community organizations, and alumni
Assist with planning and development of programming as assigned
• Complete research tasks as assigned (e.g., literature searches, writing)
• Assist and participate with presentations and trainings as assigned
• Assist with maintaining data, records, and organizational tasks as assigned
• Maintain clear and open communication
Assist with marketing and promotional tasks (e.g., graphics, advertising, etc.) as
assigned

LOCATION
This is a hybrid position. Some tasks may be completed remotely. There will be some expectation for completing some hours on campus.

SALARY, SCHEDULE, AND BENEFITS

QUALIFICATIONS & APPLICATION PROCESS
• Self-starter who can engage with detail-oriented work in a collaborative environment
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Excellent application of productivity software (e.g., MS Office, Graphic design
software)
• Strong work ethic, great energy and enthusiasm, professional accountability
• Experience in marketing and graphic design
• Demonstrate sensitivity to confidentiality and a desire contribute to creating a culture of care, belonging, and opportunity for all.
